Regulators do exactly what they say. They regulate the pressure that goes into the paintball gun. Some paintball guns come with them already while many others do not. You can replace the stock regulator with a better after market one, or you can add one to your existing marker that did not have one before. Many will have operating pressures from 100psi up to 500psi.
